Our Story

Jason Veizaga and Alberto “Stretch” Prado. We are two Mexican-American chicanos both raised on two things: the drive to share what we have, and the best home-cooking we could’ve ever asked for.

Residing in the city of Alhambra, only miles from downtown Los Angeles, we’ve noticed a lack of that authentic Mexican spice of our childhoods. Waking up to the lively aroma of huevos rancheros, washing down homestyle tacos al pastor with an icy horchata—we are two food fanatics who want our city to savor the same flavors we grew up with. Tastefully combining both our culinary and business passions and our love of traditional and new dishes, we fully embody the spirit of our craft and Alhambra’s most dedicated Mexican eatery: Spanglish Kitchen.

Spices and measurements passed down directly from our abuela’s close-kept recipes to your very own plate. Just as our familia supported local businesses, we take it a step further. All of our breads are handpicked at local bakeries, and inside them, our produce, our seafood, our meats are from the absolute freshest sources in the area. We’re showing and serving you the best this amazing city has to offer in the hopes that we plant as many delicious memories into your world as we’ve had. Because this is LA, and we are all familia.
